Brian Wilson growing creative ambitions later transformed them into a deserved artistically innovative group that praised and influenced many later musicians. The group was initially composed of singer-musician and composer Brian Wilson, his brothers, Carl and Dennis, their cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine. This core quintet was in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 1988. The Beach Boys were often called “America’s Band”, and Allmusic said that “the band’s unerring America … they made the first, best rock band. The group has thirty-six U.S. Top 40 hits (the U.S. had any rock band) and fifty-six Hot 100 hits, including four number one singles. listed magazine Rolling Stone The Beach Boys as number 12 in the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time sold. I have always like the David Marks sound on the the early stuff and his guitar playing was outstanding,I know that he helped mentor Carl along. This is why after Marks left Brian brought in Glen Campbell to shore up that lead guitar in his work..

This has to be one of their earliest video performances- David Marks was soon replaced by Al Jardine. Carl Wilson was what, 14 or so at this time? What’s the story on this interesting piece of history?

joost i hope you plan on keeping this vid on you tube for a very long time. The Sound track you selected perfect. I thing you should be making movies by now. I miss The Safari Rally because i really paid close attention to it in my teens and so the event will always be a reminder of my youth. This Sport now Falls in the old school category of my life events. The heart of the rally is pretty much the unpredictable events that unfold.

The spirit of the kenyan horizon spectacular and the speed mixed with dust and remnants of the some what monsoon rains. I have know words to describe the ever changing climate and the vast horizon of acacia trees and thick dust. The safari rally and all the pro contestants need to come back to the ragged red soil and test their machines to victory on the Kenyan soil that humbles the most experienced drivers.

It is one of my favourite rallies. Such a challenge for driver&mashine, beautiful landscape and awesome athmosphere. I hope that Kenia will be as soon as possible part of wrc calendar again!
