My internet explorer kept opening its self up on this advert website so i turned it off… or as they say here ‘fully removed from my system’
it sucks that google tries to shape IE users’ opinions by putting a chrome ad on their page.
That does not remove IE. That removes the shortcuts only. IE is embedded in the Windows Shell and it’s extremely hard to get rid of. This does not remove it completely from your system. Test it by opening an IE HTML file, watch and see that IE will still open. It is not removed by unchecking it in Windows Components.

You can’t really get a virus on your Internet Explorer. You get a virus in Windows which affects Internet Explorer.
If you perform a Virus/Malware scan with something like Malwarebytes, it doesn’t say it found the infection IN Internet Explorer, but usually it’s somewhere in the Windows folder and registry.
That said the best way to protect your IE Browser is to run “Sandboxie” so you can run the browser in a virtual environment without letting things trickle into your OS.
@jgq85 what if you got viruses on your internet explorer and you want to remove that so there not there…

IE8 doesnt work on my comp..every time iWant2go2google or sumthing it says there was no file in active download or sumcrap…any help on how 2fix??

@aaren117 Opera, Safari and Chrome are among the biggest and between them have the best ratings, they’re all also built from webkit
Chrome was actually written off the same codec as Safari.
I LOVE WINDOWS SAFARI
It does not remove it, it simply disables it and all the shortcuts.
@darkdylaner Yes, Internet Explorer 6. Thats 2 versions behind. If Google Inc. had to use IE6 for testing purposes or what not it should of been done from inside of a virtual machine.
That is like using a car from the 1960′s with no saftey features and then wondering why you got serious injuries in a crash.

Chromes so fast though, I use jdownloader for downloading though, the chrome DL manager sucks balls.

@Bane33333 So far, I can deffinetly say some things are faster and cleaner, though IE9 is still kinda buggy and not as well optimized as I think it could be. An other words, wait for the final version to see if it’s worth it.
@TheWaterProductions That is not caused by the browser. Some times I also have this issue: youtube videos wont work on ANY browser etc.. Solution is to reboot your pc.
