Dude “browsing experience acceptable” ??
N900 has the best internet browsing experience till date.No other phone does it better. And if it’s slow for you,it probably means your internet connection is slow.
You only find it ‘slow’ because most of the other phones which you have compared it to (iPhone, or Android versions < Froyo) do not load Flash videos/adverts.
From what I see, that website is heavily loaded with both.
The n900 has the best browser on a mibile device – its like a desktop browser and renders webpages ver well indeed. You didnt give it chance to load you own heavy contented site before you tried to run embedded video too!
@hazuninga On WiFi in your house or free hotspots no. If you are using your cellular network, then yes, you have to pay either separately or as part of your network plan.
It supports 3g video calling via mobile number to mobile number right? what im talking about is NOT via wifi or msn/gtalk/skype. . . I’m planning to buy this phone this week. . . Giving me info would be much appreciated. thanks
@protoZ3r
consider sms for instance; it’s constricted to only 160 characters
if the phone let’s you exceed that it’s either too stupid that the network will render the message faulty
or, like most phones do, the phone let’s u keep on writing and then send the message in pieces of 160 characters
lol just one thing when you said the zoom buttons are hard to press when the keyboard is open is false lol its only because you have it against the table but if you were to hold it normal as you would be using it its not biggy so dont trip people
@maximusD11 I really want this phone, im doing everything in my power to save up for this phone i think its a beautifully designed phone and would love to get my hands on one, good luck to me!
@protoZ3r
i think its 160 characters per message… that’s why it has a (1) sign at the bottom.. it can send up to some messages with 160 characters each…
My internet is 20Mbps. so not slow However, in hindsight the page I was looking at is packed with embedded videos. So the test could have been a bit fairer.
Had to visit your side but I have never seen a heavier site, your site almost crashed your my browser and it slowed down alot, then you expect a phone to mange it better.
They should implement an option to turn off BIS compression. It helps when your on a speed starved network, but on a fast one (and especially WiFi) it really hurts web performance.
The iPhone has a very nice, smooth browsing experience, however once you try a phone like the captivate with flash support you get the feeling that you are just missing out. I think flash is finally useable on these mobile devices due to these new, much faster and much more capable android phones.
( gorgeous )……… Giving away 20 ipads and iphone4s to first 40 people! go here.. myhottspot…dot…com………… ( confident, Boy! Marriage is a journey, gorgeous )
why your internet so slow?

do u need to pay for the internet?

@Mrmagic135 no, if you connect ANY device via wireless to your home internet then it will cost nothing because your using your own internet.
The device obviously needs to have wifi first, if it does then your good to go ( the n900 does of course)

I have the n900 and I must say, money well spent.

They said its the best internet browser for a mobile phone
why is such a big phone like this only allows you to type only 160 characters ???
My internet is 20Mbps. so not slow
However, in hindsight the page I was looking at is packed with embedded videos. So the test could have been a bit fairer.
you say it takes quite long to render the page well you probobaly have slow internet
Not a great browser? I’ve read and watched 50 odd reviews of this device and every single one said the browser is stunning???
Had to visit your side but I have never seen a heavier site, your site almost crashed your my browser and it slowed down alot, then you expect a phone to mange it better.
I would accept any of thoase phones
The torch’s web browsing looks laggy compared to the iPhones.
Samsungs screen is really good.

Do you think iphone 4 overpriced? Check out giveaway at gifter7 . com – now you can get one free!
iPhone 4 u gotta love that thing
the iphone 4 does have flash.
people bag on iphone because it has no flash BUT THERE is like six apps for flash for free
After owning an iPhone 4 and a Samsung Captivate, I gotta say it still rules the web browser.
I would say iPhone 4 is the best but you gotta keep in mind the price compared to the Torch.
The iPhone has a very nice, smooth browsing experience, however once you try a phone like the captivate with flash support you get the feeling that you are just missing out. I think flash is finally useable on these mobile devices due to these new, much faster and much more capable android phones.
the blackberry torch is the best
the blackberry is the best
good phones…… bad review……

so if u get torch u dont have to pay 30 dollar data plan? but for others u do?
I still say the 9800 wins , maybe not in the browser but overall
no phone has a nicer touchscreen than the iphone. and the bb bold is better looking than the torch.
