    Whilst this does work, I found that there was a marked decrease in the quality of the video. Not sure if it is the VLC player or was caused during the process that the player carried out before it played the file!

    I like “Easy Youtube Video Downloader” (currently version 3.3) for youtube because there are options “flv, 3pg, mp4, mp3″ and the links show up right under the video.
