Lakme is a tragic opera that issues an exotic location, the Orient combines beautiful flowers and Western colonial life in a foreign country. Located in the middle of the 19th Century British India, he tells the story of Nilakantha, a fanatical Brahmin priest, and his daughter Lakmé, who falls for a young British soldier. Delibes’ music is rich in melody and brilliant orchestration, which the mystical elements in the story. Sarah Callinan she CT Concert Opera debut in the 2008 performance of Trouble in Tahiti and the media. She also sang Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte with Boston Lyric Opera, Frasquita in Carmen with Michigan Opera Theatre, and led the soprano solos in Handel’s Messiah with Commonwealth Opera. She was the first winner in the Connecticut Opera Guild Competition 2006th

CT Concert Opera artistic director of behavior and give a pre-performance lecture. Mrs. Kosloff, a prominent opera conductor and vocal coach is a member of the faculty at the Hartt School of Music. CT Concert Opera success is partly due to the choice of Mrs. Kosloff exceptional professional talent, including young singers who show great promise due.
