Connecticut Concert Opera (www.connconcertopera.org) is Leo Delibes’ opera Lakmé in French 17th October 2009 to present on the campus of West Hartford’s Saint Joseph College.

Lakme is a tragic opera that issues an exotic location, the Orient combines beautiful flowers and Western colonial life in a foreign country. Located in the middle of the 19th Century British India, he tells the story of Nilakantha, a fanatical Brahmin priest, and his daughter Lakmé, who falls for a young British soldier.
