O’ahu – La’ie: La’ie Beach Park

Pounders beach near La’ie Beach Park, near the northern tip of the Windward Oahu, formerly known to be Pahumoa is, after a local fisherman who ordered the local Hukilau (the catching of fish in the net) and made sure that older people living in the area received a portion of the catch. It was renamed in the 1950s when a group of students at the Church College of the Pacific (now Brigham Young University-Hawaii) on the beach “Pounders” after the shore break even offers spectacular called body surf. Pounders Beach also has a protected swimming area as a “bathtub beach” for its super quiet waters, is located on the left, known past the old pier pilings.
