When you right click on the Orbit Downloader icon in the system tray, you will see Grab++ , check it…and Grab++ will be activated. Then, when you go to a site like YouTube, and play a video, video link will be shown on Grab++ .. then select that video, and click download.
Alternatively, you can also use Sothink Web Video Downloader add-on for firefox. It is also very good for downloading videos.

I’m using the latest version of Firefox, and I’m downloading a 1.2 GB file, and I doubt I can keep my laptop on for the entire duration of the download. Any idea, if possible, as I take up my download again, if I turn off my laptop?

Get a download manager that is free. It’s called Free Download Manager. It could resume long downloads even after you turn the laptop off.
