Q&A: What’s the difference between a Musical, an Operetta, and an Opera?

Question by redbeard2k3: What’s the difference between a Musical, an Operetta, and an Opera?
I’ve heard Miss Saigon booked as a musical, but there was only a very few spoken lines. Falsetto is called “sung-through musical” described. I know a musical director who, when he first saw Sweeney Todd, described it as a modern opera. I’m working on a “Month in the Country” – which is by all accounts an opera … but how it is distinguished from “falsetto”? If works of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas are, why / how they are classified in this way? Would not it be presumed etymology of that operetta is only a small (less?) Opera? We go back to the classical definitions of comedy (the hero living / succeeds) and tragedy (the hero fails / dies), all operas tragedies and comedies of all musicals? Are there any guidelines? Rules of thumb? Is it subjective to some degree?

An opera is like drama with no talking, just music and singing. An operetta is like a play with music and singing, but there is alot of talking.
A musical is the same as an operetta.

What’s the difference between IE, Opera and Firefox? Which one is the best of them all?

Question by Sam, Vice President of the YAA: What’s the difference between IE, Opera and Firefox? Which one is the best of them all?
Which of the three browsers are good? And why? Is one of them better in terms of faster surfing the Internet, or a higher security, etc. etc.? What do you recommend? Are there any other web browsers you use, besides the three you really? Given a change of web browsers (currently using IE), but I do not know what is best. I’ve heard that you need to tweak your Firefox a lot (for increased security), so I’m not so sure I am on it. Any ideas what I can use?

Opera is best, Firefox is second. You don’t need to touch either one for security.

What’s the difference between Chrome and Standard?

Question by confuzzled gurl: What’s the difference between Chrome and Standard?
I have a new Fujifilm digital camera, and I can change the settings to default, Chrome, and B & W, but I do not know the difference between Chrome and Standard.

Chrome gives you more saturated colours and higher contrast. Personally I prefer to shoot on Standard. You can then choose to increase the saturation and contrast in photo editing software if the picture needs it. You don’t get a good result if you try reduce contrast and saturation having shot on the Chrome setting.
