Yes and no. The phone can’t read it directly, but this isn’t typically how you would try to do it anyway. Usually, you are going to retrieve the data using server side coding, and then just push the results to mobile browser. This is no different than any web application that retrieves data from a backend database.

Super-highspeed surfing through data compression

(Business Wire) 30 March 2003

The latest SaferSurf product is called “safer surfing speed. It compresses text data into a ZIP file before sending the customer to be sent through a narrowband connection. Once the data has arrived, prepare the computer is as fast as a flash, like the software to download. The text content of web pages will appear first on the screen. Only then the graph is shown. “And in passing, we see that the data contains unwanted content,” said CEO René Holzer ©.

The high speed is particularly evident with mobile devices, such as a connection over GPRS. The pages seem to be displayed fast as ISDN. This method has a side effect that is not to be underestimated: the mobile data transfer costs much less, because GPRS is charged by the volume of the data stream, the SaferSurf reduced by using a compressed transfer

.

“We have even succeeded in selling our services as far as Samoa,” Holzer says proudly. The use of the Service SaferSurf.com is simple. SaferSurf speed as a proxy server in the Internet browser is entered, the price varies between $ 3 and $ 5.90 per month, depending on the booked service package

addition to the data speed up SaferSurf service also offers protection against viruses and dangerous dialers (so-called Internet dumping). If desired, the user can surf the Internet anonymously, to protect their online privacy. SaferSurf the Editors Choice for anonymous surfing through the German computer magazine “Computer Bild” was given. Particular advantages Notes by the Editor: reliable anonymity, works with all popular Internet browsers, provides additional filtering for web page content
