I just talked to Ralph Lauren.com, they said that they are in the process of bringing back this fragrance in limited quantities. Of course, they will only be selling it on their site (and of course at full price). The CSR said that any Safari fragance you can buy on other sites right now is at least 4-5 years old because they have not manufactured it in that long. She said the shelf life is a max of two years if kept in a cool dark room, so when you buy elsewhere you are getting an “aged” perfume. Just FYI.

This is the only scent I have used for over 15 years. I constantly get compliments on “how good you smell!!”. I have had men follow me to ask me what I am wearing so they can buy it for their wives. I love this scent!!

I agree with the previous reviewer. I have worn Safari since it was introduced and I love it. It’s true, people ask me all the time what perfume I’m wearing. I can’t believe the price! Whenever I only have one bottle left in my linen closet stash, I get a little panicky …so I stocked up!

Safari has been discontinued and is no longer sold in department stores. I think it was one of Ralph Laurens better perfumes. I wore it from the year it came out until it was discontinued. I was complimented on it constantly. I even had guys angling to sit by me just to breathe in the scent. The reason I think it was dicontinued – it changed into a totally different scent after only a few months of the opening spray. The real fragrance didn’t last long enough. My sister had a bottle that she kept for three years – it reeked! I know, I know, all perfume ages, but not like Safari did. It happened to fast, within three months or less. So I loved it, and wore it for years, but I can understand why some people complained about it. I was thinking about making a purchase here at Amazon, but I don’t want to get the old smelly stuff.
