I got my N900 a few days ago Nokia USA. For purposes of this review, I will compare with my previous phone, the HTC G1. My opinions are based solely on the user experience of these days with the N900, and I’ve never had an iphone, I will not compare them.
* Physical Design The N900 is a very sturdy phone, and rightly so. While having some weight to him, the N900 is solid and well constructed. I pre-ordered my N900 when he learned that in September. And I waited patiently, and waited, watching all demographic groups, preview and review I could find. With each passing day, I knew I was moving closer to happiness. And one day, my N900 has arrived.

It is very simple. I love this phone. Now, one day, I am not easily excited or impressed by a phone. A couple of years, had a set of model change every four to six months. But now, the Xperia X1, I bought last December and I do not see a dramatic improvement in the last year.

I had 4 Nokia smartphones and some others. From the outset, is a phone that is fun to use, but I would wait a bit before buying this phone. Very few applications available for it, the touch screen is a bad mood, it comes w / only 1 bell. In short, was removed from the assembly line soon, but it is remote upgrade and has a great potential.
A complete list of features. Mention of them take some time. I only know that is packaged and not more than others. The stand-out: Mozilla, 4 workstations active, touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard and stylus equipment and handwriting recognition, FM transmitter, 32 GB, quality construction. Unfortunately, there are as many other applications for Maemo, as there is for Symbian or Apple. With just a phone with great Maemo, I’m not sure how come.
The N900 is a very solid phone * *. For a unit w / a slide mechanism is built like a bank safe – no squeaks or rattles. Sober, matte black, well equipped, bright screen. It is incredibly fun to use and the big screen is a winner.
If you have never used a smartphone before, is likely to be dazzled by the versatility and flexibility of configuration. If you have never had a high-end phone, you’ll fall in love w / the camera, video, web and the large number of functions. There are many things to love (to compare with another phone on GSMArena.) As a smartphone user known, I will detail my cons below.
To be fair, the N-Series models are to have their own specialties. The N82 is the camera, therefore, xenon and publishing. The N900 has to do with the Web and make it exceptionally well. However, the browser crashes more often than any other smartphone I’ve used. In addition, each page is loaded as you would on a desktop, so that the browser is done. (Again, is not ready for production). The web and social networks is the high end. Unlike Symbian phones, the N900 is very easy to configure.
CALENDAR / ALARM: Contrary to previous N-Series, calendar alarms do not sound if the phone is off.
Photo / Video: The N900 has no photo editing software, a single crop and program coverage. It is a shame for a device that offers videos of this quality. 5MP and Zeiss. . . but no editor? The N900 offers no video editor either. This is part of training for iPhones and Blackberries, but the N-series have always had video editing functions. You can not cut and paste video and text overlay.
Keyboard: N900 wide, it is difficult to type quickly. Since there is no space between keys, attention should be paid when entering text. Introduction of numbers / symbols sometimes requires typing while holding the key number. I am currently able to enter text much faster on the N82, with the broad, N900 stuck keys. Although many mechanisms for text entry, text input on the N900 is awkward. The virtual keyboard is actually better than the hardware keyboard, but requires more attention. I would not have imagined a teachable T9 would be faster than both QWERTY.
Touch Screen: The touchscreen is easy to get used and are not as demanding as a cursor, but are blingy. Lesser of unequal pressure, shock or inconsistency in the neck and which is to open an application. 90% of the time, you can use the stylus, that even the smallest fingers misfire. You have this phone very heavy, with long strokes on the screen, a sliding QWERTY keyboard strokes juggling ow / stylus. However, it looks more like the team and it is fun to use. In addition, the images transferred to the N900 via Bluetooth documents are on file, sometimes the video folder, rarely the images folder. The videos can appear in a folder on the camera. . . . Who knows?
OPERATION: Can not go on many applications. If you close a program in a file or program from the menu, you should begin to find this place.

The phone comes with a single chime, Nokia, unless you add more. I expect a phone of this price and size to have a working camera before and ringtones and call me crazy.
The camera flash is good, but this flash light is W PAR / older, less expensive Xenon N82. Again, each phone has its purpose. E-Series are for businesses, multimedia N-Series – some of the other webcams. All right. . . but at this price?

GENERAL: The N900 is full of features, solid and very fun to use. This approach is an Internet tablet. . . but one that comes w / a high-end camera. To this end, certainly provides. For the price, however, I expected the N900 to include photo / video editing software, camera and document * before *. Editor if you want a full hardware w high-end phone QWERTY / better quality and a touch screen, see HTC.
