Finally, I can surf the internet on my DS, what the Japanese have been doing for some time. You’ll need a wireless access point to connect, as you would a laptop. There are some drawbacks such as lack of video or sound, but if you need information or if you want to read news on the web, the browser will be perfect. It has several standard features such as bookmarks and a history of recently visited sites. You can disable the images load times faster, search for specific words on a web site, zoom, and more. You can switch between two display modes, one mode simply displays the web page at the top and bottom of the screen. The other mode displays a magnified view of the site on a screen, another screen to zoom in to display text and links. Obviously the touch screen is very useful for browsing the Web, replacing the functionality of the mouse. In general, it is a very useful site for DS access program, even limited. It can be slow when viewing pages with lots of calculation, but you can always turn the tables to improve speed. I have a laptop, but most do not take it with me, and I did not surf the internet on my phone (which costs money anyway), then this little program will really be very useful for me. I live in New York, where there are many Internet access points, if I’m on and you need to know when playing a movie or you want my email, which is perfect for that.

After reading many reviews of this unit, I was very skeptical about it being useful, but being a big geek I could not resist the idea of checking my Gmail account and ebay auctions on my DS Lite . Therefore, it is almost as bad as some commentators say the 1 star? No, it is super fast and can be used for everything you would on your PC? No. In fact the halfway point. I read in another post which is comparable to the speed of 56K, which is very near the mark, a bit faster in most cases.
basically back to what you want and use it to their expectations. If you intend to surf many media / flash heavy sites (such as GameSpot, etc. …), this is not the device for you. The types of sites take forever to load and render. However, if you’re like me and want to check email, weather, eBay, Google news sites, Wikipedia, type, and other sites that have a mobile version, the DS browser is very convenient and fast. I’ve never had any problems with the registration in my accounts online or presentation of various forms. The convenience of being able to check my e-mail or read on the terrace in the courtyard is well worth the $ 40 (CAN). I basically can turn on, connect, check my email and turn it off before my PC is still ongoing.
I think the number of bad reviews are due to ignorance, not to scare you if you plan to step into this thing. Some writer on this site complains that he received the wrong version, I’m not sure how Nintendo’s fault when it is marked Cleary for the Lite version.
Some complain that it is not compatible with Flash or other plugins, the obvious constraints are well known before the purchase, so why buy it?
Others say that even for news sites that are mostly text, its slow (eg, 8 seconds) compared to the instantaneous load time of your PC. These geniuses are probably the same as sticking a silencer on important civil rights and are disappointed he can not go as fast as a corvette.

If so, be prepared to do a little tap, tap, tapping of fingers. I love my DS, and 5 years ago, it would have been a decent mobile browser. But smaller sites, even today, have a lot of data and images to load, which make your browsing experience a stop nearby. I do not think this is the result of too high expectations, either. After all, the first page you see when you start the browser’s home page lists an alleged relationship with Nintendo, but the site is almost completely useless in using this platform, something I think is a little embarrassing Opera and Nintendo. < , Br />
In short, the only practical use for this is to check email and maybe some blogs, and it’s really all there is. The next DS should be a little more powerful and hopefully that will make a very large wireless network browsing experience for the masses. Then wait.

Given the limitations of the DS platform (slow processor, small screen, limited memory), it is a great browser. After using the browser for Pocket PC, Windows Mobile and Sony PSP is the only one I saw who makes complex pages correctly. The home page of the New York Times is accurately presented and, unlike the Windows Mobile version of Internet Explorer, you can view images of U.S. radar, the National Weather Service website. complex pages are best viewed in design mode in which the bottom screen shows a large portion of the page with a rectangle can be moved on the page to see expanded content on the top screen. More pages of text-based, like BoingBoing, better on how to compress the page width to the width of the screen and the page is divided into two screens. Recognizing that different sites are best viewed differently, the browser allows you to specify how each of their favorite open stored in. Yes, the browser is slower than a laptop because of the limitations of the platform shape, but its speed is comparable to other handheld devices, while its precision, flexibility and ease of use are much better. Opera has done a fantastic job of using the strengths of the DS to make the browser both useful and usable.

Surf the Internet on your DS. The Japanese have been able to accomplish this task for some time now and finally we have the DS browser on our shores. As a previous reviewer rightly said, the DS browser is useful, but limited in their abilities. Despite this, however, is still a bit more handy to your DS collection is worth. There are a few different options when it comes to Web browsing, being mostly surf the web with the top screen while using the touchscreen as a mouse. Display pages of text is fairly easy, but there are obvious gaps in the browser. The most remarkable is that what limited in terms of functionality in general. To view the videos is no doubt, and all the sound capabilities of the sites you visit. Facts aside, the browser works very well otherwise, with the touch screen is excellent feature is bigger size. Note however that you’ll need to find access points to connect to Wi-Fi, which is not a problem for city residents. In this case, have the Internet on your DS on the road is a pleasant companion and welcome if you need to find information quickly. While it seems inevitable that Nintendo will update and release better versions of the browser for the DS in the future, is a step in the right direction. In short, if you intend to take the DS browser, beware what you can and can not do, and once you’ve made peace with it, you’ll find it a welcome addition to the highlights of the hand Nintendo.
