Why the browser keeps asking for internet connections, even if I’m connected with wifi?

I use Firefox 3. 06 and my OS is Vista Home Premium. The main problem is when I’m browsing the Internet is that when the browser requests a connection to the Internet (although I’m connected to wifi) all my pages load rather slow down or stop, until you remove the question raised by the browser.

First, check if the connection works. Then make sure in Firefox> Under File, Work Offline is not selected.

I fireall security system, or rather not able to connect via the internet or your connection does not allow the safety of work systems and shock somethign. To see if it works after disabling the firewall, but it is not desirable.

You may be perhaps a virus on their computer attempting to connect to the Internet. Make sure your antivirus is updated and run a full scan of virus.También between the control options in Control Panel> Internet and go to the Connections tab, then select “Never dial” link if it is enabled.
