Question by J.: What is the best way to clean rust off of chrome?
My son has a chrome wheel, and it is a good name brand bike but has quite a bit of rust. What is the best way to clean the rust off without scratching it to shreds?

Yes xxx fine steel wool.Get some good wax and the finest steel wool you can get and I think it is xxx put some wax on the steel wool and start cleaning the rust off.I use it on chrome bumpers and they dont scratch.

Chrome doesn’t rust. What rusts is the metal that gets exposed when he wrecks or drops the bike thereby chipping off small bits of the Chrome Plating. It can be cleaned off with some light oil and a green 3M scrub pad but, if you don’t treat the bare metal with Ospho or something like that to neutralize the rust it will be back in no time at all.
wood bleach i have done this many times . go to hardware store and get some . the best way is to soak it in it i would use a landry tub or sink . just follow the directsions of the water to mix . good luck
