What instrument plays the overture in phantom of the opera, and where can you get the official music for it?

Question by Chris Bahr: What instrument plays the overture in phantom of the opera, and where can you get the official music for it?
I am an experienced piano / organ player, and I want to get to the Overture from Phantom of the Opera. I’m pretty sure it’s some sort of organ, but not completely. I can not find the place, the official, original music for the overture. To sum it up, which is essential for an instrument Phantom of the Opera: Overture, and where can u get the original and official music for them? Thanks in advance!

  1. barco says:

If you look at the YEAR that Phantom was composed.. then the best guess would be the organ used is a GIANT WURLITZER.. and the recorded pieces have a definite GIANT WURLITZER sound to them.

The one thing you know is.. it has to be a WURLITZER, or an ALLEN or a ROGERS or a CONN because they were the only big organs being built in the 1980′s
