Question by atricky123: What is the safest way to clean/polish the chrome legs on a kitchen table?
We have the possession of a chrome leg, chrome moldings, melamine table top over 50′s. The chrome legs are dirty from sitting so long. What is the best and safest way to clean it and shine again? Any ideas on the top?

I have the same thing in my kitchen, I used a white toothpaste on the legs and they look great. My top was in good shape so i don’t have an idea about that. Good Luck, I love my chrome table and chairs

Just plain old windex work’s wounder’s on chrome,glass,tile.If really dirty lightly with brillo,wont scratch.
use WD-40. just spray it on and clean with a paper towel. works great on crome.
steel wool very fine steel wool…then wax them. like a car. or you can use rubbing compound from an auto store. and wax them.
THE HARDWARE HAS CHROME CLEANER AND SO DOES THE AUTO PARTS-MAKE A BEAUTIFUL SHINE. THAT MELAMINE TOP I WOULD USE A LIQUID CLEANER-NON ABRASIVE SO YOU DON’T DULL THE FINISH. LET IT SOAK THE DIRT LOOSE WITH A TOWEL WET WITH A SOAPY AMMONIA AND WATER SOLUTION. DO IT A COUPLE OF TIMES. DON’T WORK TOO HARD. LET THE SOLUTION SOAK DO THE WORK, THEN SOME GOOD WAX SHINE TO FINISH. A QUALITY PASTE WAX IS THE BEST FOR A HARD FINISH.
Steel Wool such as SOS pads for cleaning initially.
For maintenence, Try this cleaning cloth. You have to buy in packages of 5 but they are only like $ 3 bucks a piece. I have ordered them and use them on everything, especially cleaning chrome, windows and clean mirrors. They are made out of tiny fibers. They are guaranteed not to scratch and all you do is rinse the cloth under water, wring it out and wipe ANY surface with no streaks or scratch. I use them over and over. I have not thrown one away yet!
I am sold on this …I encourage you to try it out.
