I bought a dining set, and the chairs have chrome, but it looks like metal, what is the difference?

Chrome is a coating on metal. It can be thick or thin, but it can chip. Metal can’t.

    Chrome is a metal plating made out of nickle and chromium, and it’s processed, but nickle is the main part, the chromium mix gives it the shine. it’s a 2 step process.
    it is metal, it’s a thin layer of metal put on as a coating.
