I hate the “provided by Yahoo!” part of this. I can’t download the regular Internet Explorer 8 because it says I have a newer version of IE. If I delete the whole IE off my computer, I would need a way to get on the internet to download it right?
I have Windows Internet Explorer provided by Yahoo! Is there a way to get a regular version downloaded?

Well, if you delete IE, then you could use Firefox ( http://www. mozilla. com/firefox/ ) to get on the Internet to re-download it (assuming that you download Firefox before you delete IE). The problem is that I don’t know how to uninstall IE.
You could also try going to the command prompt and running:
IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU. exe /fa
The /fa part should force IE8 to re-install all files.
Or you could just use Firefox and forget about IE.
You would want to do as Toby suggested, first and formost download firefox, then just ignore ie. ie usually is intergraded within windows. If you take out ie, you may damage the operating system of windows.

When you remove IE8 you should be reverted back to the previous Internet Explorer version you were using (IE7 I would guess).
Then you can download the official Microsoft IE8: http://www. microsoft. com/windows/internet-explorer/default. aspx?ocid=ie8_sm_b
