How to measure the brightness of a chrome surface? Is there a specific tool for this?

I am working on a decorative chrome plating industry (not hard chrome). I usually work service banquet chairs chrome, tires, shocks, etc. Sometimes the result is not as stable chrome / constant quality or good as I expected (not bright enough or not sufficiently resistant to corrosion). So I need something to measure quality by setting a standard for a given level of brightness, I hope that this measurement tool (if any) might help.

    I was wondering about the photographers and their light meters. I bet if you checked with this line of work to find something to help.
