In IE, go to TOOLS menu and pick Internet Options. You will see the DELETE COOKIES button, DELETE Files button and CLEAR HISTORY button on the first screen. Then go to the CONTENT section and click on the AutoComplete buttion. Use the CLEAR FORMS and CLEAR PASSWORDS button.

Be sure to do this when you are using someone else’s computer, or you are at the Public Library. You certainly don’t need your personal information on someone else’s computer.

    Good luck and Happy Computing!

Hi:) There are two ways of looking at this. The others are right you can limit the size. First of all, you need to decide on whether you want someone else to be able to view your browsing history later since Windows does not delete those files permanently. The second reason, is those files accumulate (in the the MB’s) if they are not deleted and slow down your system. What I use is a data destruction program to protect my privacy and to free up valuable resources. I make a point of doing it on a regular basis and my system runs better and my viewing history can not be revealed. Hope this helps. There is a site that describes the security

Here is how do what you want in IE6

Go to Tools –> Internet Options.

Delete your temp files when you close IE:
Select the “Advanced” tab and scroll down to the security section
Make sure that “Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed” is checked.

To not maintain IE history after you close IE:
Click on the “General” tab and set the Days to keep pages in history to 0
    Click on “Clear History” button

Once these 2 things are done, click on the “OK” button.

    Hope this helps
