How do I set my Firefox 3 address bar to go directly to a site, rather than going through google?

My laptop is running the same version of Firefox and when I type queries into the address bar, it goes straight to a website, yet when I do such on my desktop, it will run through Google.
I tried tweaking the about:config settings, but that didn’t help.

If u mean homepage, then change it to the website u want to open while opening Firefox. Go to tools and options and change the homepage.

not sure, if this what u meant u may try the reffered blog link

for starter, by default, if u type a query in firefox address bar, it uses google’s “i am feeling lucky” feature to go to a website, but u can disable this by using about:config. at about:config, in the filter box, type keywords. url, only one entry will show up. double click on that entry and u will get a popup marked, ‘enter a string’. copy the string value and paste it in a notepad for if latter on u decide to use it. delet the string value from the popup window press ok and restart firefox. see if its working as u wanted! u can follow original authors website also.
