Question by Habernathy Grimm: How can I stop websites from automatically refreshing in IE and firefox?
For example, if not logged into yahoo and see a page like http://news.yahoo.com/i/964 the page is automatically updated whenever it wants. This is annoying and interrupts my reading. Even if I see something interesting, and am relieved it can be updated and disappears. I suppose it is a browser setting that these corrections can not find it in IE

Greasemonkey has a script that can do this.

Proximitron also carries this feature.
