How can I restore or clean aluminum and chrome in the shower?

I do not know if the frame is aluminum or chrome, however, I have a feeling that is chromium. It has a matte finish and shower doors are sliding doors. At the bottom of the frame, it appears that the metal was corroded or rusted. . I tried to rub off and using different cleaners, however, I failed. You do not know if it’s just lime or if corrosion. Does anyone have a solution to this without having to obtain a new framework? Thank you!

first attempt to use a rust remover like CLR or Zud or Naval Jelly, with a stainless steel scouring pad. If rust has already begun to eat through metal and make holes, it is too late, however, after cleaning and what is really dry, then use clear nail polish on the affected area.

It is polished aluminum. If steel and chrome oxide undernearth edges where it was cut. Is it red? It will rust if it is gray or green, is aluminum. Use steel wool soap pads to clean the frame.
