How can I make my default browser to check email?

I recently upgraded to Windows 7, and now when I try to check my e-mail using Windows Live Messenger button, it opens an application called Windows Live Mail in Vista, take me in thr browser. How do I get a kick in the browser? I want to do, click on i-mail Messenger and opens Internet Explorer.

    Click on Tools, then Internet Options and type the address on the website and click Use Current and click OK.
