How can I get Internet Explorer to open a new direction?

I added Windows XP Professional on my computer and since I had many problems with Internet Explorer. Because of problems I had, I downloaded Mozilla Firefox and configure the browser. I deleted Internet Explorer and Firefox now does not open all the addresses you type into the address bar. How can I make Internet Explorer the main browser again.

    Right on the IE icon, properties, programs in the background is to ask whether this is the default browser. Tickets and restart.
