Each time you download something with Firefox, Firefox is checked for viruses browser crashes and I have to go to task manager and end process. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix?

I can not access the desktop. Only I have access to the Internet and Firefox is my default. I try to access the Internet Explorer so that I can express my trial period of Vista. Thank you pour votre aide.
