AA? A group of community volunteers today launched a drive to a full-page ad in the New York Times to buy. The effort, supported by the Mozilla Foundation is celebrating the launch of Firefox 1.0 AA? Mozilla FoundationÂÂ? s innovative new web browser AA? and the names of thousands of small donor contributors who will support product launch activities.
Advertising is one component of a larger community marketing campaign, called AA? Spread Firefox.ÂÂ? The campaign is the worldÂÂ? Largest community marketing effort ever for open source software made.
The original idea for the campaign and all research, development and design was created by volunteers.
doneIn just four weeks has swelled the site SpreadFirefox.com marketing activities to the community of nearly 25,000 registered users coordinate. The siteÂÂ? S first goal was surpassed one million downloads of the latest pre-release version of Firefox within three days. To date, more than 5 million copies have the latest version of the open source web browser in a little more than a month download.
AA? Since the introduction of Firefox 0.8 last February we have a huge increase in grassroots sport seen interest in the Firefox web browser, support AA? said Bart Decrem, a spokesman for the Mozilla project. AA? The Firefox 1.0 launch is a celebration AA? both for a new large open-source product and the large open-source community that happen.ÂÂ?

The Firefox 1.0 community marketing campaign is the first time the open source community embraced national advocacy tactics to celebrate the launch of a new product.

AA? Creating a media team to respond to omissions or inaccuracies in the news.
AA? Create a referral system, more than 200,000 visits GetFirefox.com. generated
AA? Through the Internet, people are more aware of their power and the ability to organize collective action. As consumers, people are increasingly reliable, highly customizable web browsing experience, AA? Decrem said. AA? We are on the threshold of a new chapter for open-source-AA? the community is useful from the development, secure software is growing support for it.ÂÂ?
