Android OS Market Share Steadily on the Rise
In the wireless industry, the hand phone operating system (OS) is currently dominated by Apple’s iPhone. The Apple iPhone is still the leading operating system on the market, with no signs of slowing down. In fact, other competitors such as RIM, WinMo, Palm and Symbian all booked south trends. If it get any new players on the market, it seems like the iPhone OS to take over the entire market.
The main reason behind the iPhone great success is that the OS allows third party applications are installed on the phone. These applications are developed by third party software developers and distributed through the Apple’s official website. After an open platform that allows developers to respond quickly to consumer requests. There is no need to wait for Apple to publish apps. Based on feedback received useful applications developers can publish in a few weeks. So far, no other operating system capable of these abilities. To date, the Apple iPhone has already captured an estimated 50% market share
Luckily there is a new player in town -. Android OS. This new contender in the market is being developed by Google and is open on a similar concept. Developers can develop applications using managed code in Java. As Java is a mature programming language, many developers have little trouble picking up the development work. While the Android OS is far from being outdated, the iPhone, it is caught quickly. In fact, it is the only mobile OS on an upward trend (except iPhone of course) have posted. .
